Cowboys, LaGrange Road Bridge, Live Music and More This Weekend

Your local weekend event list features a Klezmer performance, Life of Pi and Dueling Pianos.

The week is drawing to a close, and the pleasant weather has you thinking about what events are happening this weekend. It’s OK. You can be honest with us.

Friday

Friday Night Live – Each Friday, the Bridge Teen Center hosts a different band and dinner from local restaurants. This week, End of December brings their hard rocking to the Orland Park community center starting 8:30 p.m. Food is provided by Giordano’s Pizza.  Event is free for teens from 7th grade to 12th grade. Find out more on our Events Calendar.

Friday Film Series ­­Life of Pi – Come to the Orland Park Public Library to watch the inspiring movie about a young man who survives a disaster at sea, and goes on an epic journey with a tiger. The two-hour movie starts at 7:30 p.m. Find out more on our Events Calendar.

Saturday

LaGrange Road Pedestrian Bridge Opening­ – The time has come. A walkable bridge connecting the Main Street Triangle with Orland Crossing over LaGrange Road will open 9 a.m. Saturday. Find out more on our Events Calendar.

Giddy Up Cowpokes – Bring children 3 and up to the Palos Park Public Library for cowboy stories, crafts and snacks starting 2 p.m. Register by calling 708-448-1530. Find out more on our Events Calendar.

Sunday 

Maxwell Street Klezmer Band Quartet – Enjoy the soulful and historic music rooted in European ghettos at the Orland Park Public Library. Music starts at 3 p.m. Find out more on our Events Calendar.

Dueling Pianos - The Beverly Arts Center will host master showmen Dan Gillogly and Ted Oliver as they perform All American Dueling Pianos, a high energy concert that’s musically superb and hilariously funny. Dueling Pianos is an all request, sing-a-long, clap-a-long, rock 'n' roll, comedy piano show. Tickets are $20, or $18 for BAC members and can be purchased in advance online.
