Doughs Guys Bakery Coming Soon to Palos Heights

Chicago Ridge favorite moving into former Baumann's Bakery space.

Palos Heights residents might soon find it harder to resist their sweet-tooth.

Doughs Guys Bakery, formerly of Chicago Ridge, will hang their shingle in Palos Heights, in the former home of Baumann’s Bakery, 12248 S. Harlem Avenue. Moving day is set for July 31. An exact opening date for the new location is not yet set, but management is aiming for August 9 or 10.

“We are in the process of redoing that store and are excited about the future,” staff wrote on the bakery’s Facebook page. “We will have better (off the street parking) as well as a covered facade which will help in the rain and snow. The people of Chicago Ridge, Oak Lawn, Worth, Alsip, Crestwood, Burbank, Bridgeview, Hickory Hills, The Beverly Area and the surrounding communities have been so supportive and we hope that you will follow us to Palos Heights.”

The bakery is leaving its current location due to an increase in rent. They will concentrate their efforts just on baked goods, with no plans to offer breakfast or lunch.

“We are going to focus on fresh baked goods everyday and putting smiles on the faces of our loyal ’Dough Heads’!”
