Handguns, Drugs Among Items Found In Palos Hills Traffic Crash

PALOS HILLS, IL — A man was arrested when found Palos Hills police found guns and drugs in his vehicle after a traffic crash, reports said.

Gabriel Torres, 37, is facing charges of unlawful use or possession of a firearm by a felon, obstructing identification and possession of an unspecified controlled substance.

Torres was involved in a traffic crash Jan. 3 near 100th Street and Roberts Road when officers said they found a Highpoint 9mm handgun and a David Industries .380 caliber handgun, in addition to a controlled substance.

Police said Torres tried to obscure his identify by passing himself as his brother to officers.
