PALOS HILLS, IL — Moraine Valley Community College is kicking off the academic theater season by holding auditions for the Mel Brooks musical “Young Frankenstein,” Monday, Sept. 8. The auditions start at 6 p.m., in the Fine and Performing Arts Center, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills.

From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation “The Producers,” is “Young Frankenstein,” a musical about Frederick Frankenstein, grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein (pronounced FRONK-en-steen), who inherits his family’s estate in Transylvania. Hilarity ensues as Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors with help from a hunchbacked sidekick and leggy lab assistant.

To cast the show, the college theater department is dipping into the vast talent pool of the south suburbs. People of all ages, ethnicities, gender identities and backgrounds are encouraged to audition.
