PALOS, IL — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

Jordan has been a well-rounded kid, showing leadership and kindness in the classroom as well as in his athletic programs. He has been nominated by his teachers the past 2 years for “Eagle of the month“ program for showing leadership and empathy.

Outside of school, he spends ALL of his time playing sports, making our local recreation center his second home. He plays AYSO soccer program, in which his team won first place this past year. However, his true love is Basketball. He does not let the fact that he is shorter in stature stop him, he remains confident and driven to do great things, with NBA dreams. He just made his first travel basketball team and can’t wait to learn more skills along the way. Jordan is a mentor to his 3 year old brother, Wyatt who just adores him. He is teaching him soccer as he just started on a team as well. Jordan is an overall good kid with big dreams and we are so proud of him!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

Jordan is a sweet kid who always includes everyone.
