Palos Hills Votes No To Video Gambling Cafes
In a narrow 5-4 vote, alderman reject gambling cafes targeting women.

Palos Hills votes down liquor licenses that would allow video gambling cafes to the city’s existing five video gambling businesses, the Daily Southtown reports.
In a narrow 5-4 vote, alderman said the small cafes, which target female gamblers, are primarily in the business of gambling, instead of being a secondary business to a restaurant or bar.
“It’s one of the most addictive forms of gambling there is,” Ald. Marty Kleefisch, 1st Ward, said before voting against the cafes. “I believe the reputation of the city is … tied into video gaming. I think we should look for more creative ways to make money for our city.”
