Palos Stars Homecoming 2025
Palos Stars Football and Cheerleading program held their 2025 Homecoming games.

The Palos Stars Football and Cheerleading program had their 2025 homecoming games against the Burbank Titans on Saturday. The families celebrated the teams on Friday night at the annual pep rally. Each player and cheerleader was announced across the field and each cheer squad preformed their halftime show. That was followed up with great food and great friends. Saturday morning, volunteers decorating the field with Red, White and Blue and hung the posters the families made for their kids.

A special sign was placed by the score board reading, 'Forever in our hearts, Coach Lou.'
The Mighty-Mites were the only team not able to play at home on Saturday, so they went to New Lenox and played against the Mustangs. They did head back over to their field later on to celebrate with the other teams and families for homecoming. The team played well, starting off with #28 Rodgers picking up a fumbled snap and running it down near the 10 yard line.

#42 Coleman-Foster had a good run. #24 Carroll had a good carry. New Lenox had run the ball to the 1 yard line and the Stars worked hard to prevent a touchdown. #74 L. Farr and #59 Flores had a great backfield tackle for a loss. #74 L. Farr and #56 Zuleger had another backfield tackle. #51 J. Farr lead a constellation tackle as the Stars officially stopped them on a turn over on downs. #24 Carroll had a big run down to the 15 yard line. #74 L. Farr had a great backfield tackle. #65 Larkins had a great open field tackle. #74 L. Farr had another great backfield sack. #65 Larkins had a great tackle. At halftime, the Mighty-Mites Cheerleaders put on a great show for the fans.

#65 Larkins grabbed a high snap that went over the quaterbacks head and ran it in for a Stars touchdown. #42 Coleman-Foster had a great tackle. #16 Inabi had a good backfield tackle. #28 Rodgers had a great tackle near the goal line. #74 L. Farr had a great run to the 1 yard line.

This allowed #65 Larkins to run in for a Stars touchdown. #67 Wodarski threw a great pass to #65 Larkins, who caught the ball and ran the whole field for a Stars touchdown. #42 Coleman-Foster and #16 Inabi had a good tackle. Back at the Stars home field, the Mighty-Mites were announced out to their families and the cheerleaders preformed their full halftime routine for the crowd.
The Widgets had their game next. #78 Larkins had a great carry. #9 Vara had a great run. #78 Larkins had another good run. And that allowed #9 Vara to make a Stars touchdown. #84 Smith had a good backfield tackle. #27 Bowater had a tackle at the line of scrimmage.

#84 Smith recovered a fumble. #78 Larkins made good use of that extra possession and had a great touchdown run. #84 Smith was good for the extra point. #35 Whittler and #72 Ruggio had a good tackle. #27 Bowater had a great tackle. #78 Larkins had a great tackle. And #52 Ennis had a great tackle to finish out the first half. #84 Smith had a great backfield sack.

#2 Compean slowed the runner while #52 Ennis came in and tackled the Titans player. #9 Vara chased down a runner that got ahead of the pack for a great tackle. #9 Vara slowed runner and #24 lead a constellation tackle. #84 Smith had a good backfield tackle. #84 Smith and #21 Storrs had a tackle with #19 Inabi helping out. #78 Larkins had a great carry. #19 Inabi had a good carry. #9 Vara pushed for a few yards. Then #9 Vara pushed in for a Stars touchdown. And #9 got the extra point as #27 Bowater held a great block. #23 Eid lead a backfield constellation tackle. #27 Bowater and #21 Storrs made a backfield tackle. #78 Larkins ran in for a Stars touchdown. #27 Bowater had a touchdown saving tackle with 3 seconds left in the game. With enough time for one more play, #9 Vara tackled to end the game. Withe the first win of the season for the Widgets Stars, final score Stars 26, Titans 0.
The Pee-wees had their turn next.

The Stars blocked an extra point attempt. #12 Williams slowed the runner and #22 GTO made the tackle.

At halftime, the Pee-wees cheerleaders squad took the field.

Decked out in all the bling, they had the fans in the stands yelling Red, White, and Blue. #33 Carrillo had a great tackle at the line of scrimmage. #22 GTO had a great tackle.

#7 Quinn had a great throw to #10 Dickerson.
The JV teams went next. #14 Dreyer had a few good runs. #11 Greenway and #47 Jackson Jr had a good tackle. #11 Greenway made another tackle. #47 Jackson Jr tripped up numerous Titans by tackeling low to stop them from running much. #11 Greenway caught a pass from #18 Werdeg with a Titan's playing trying to hang onto it also. #14 Dreyer had a good carry. #18 Werdeg had a good quaterback keep. #30 Inabi had a good tackle. #3 Flynn had a good tackle. #25 Montoya and #47 Jackson Jr had a good tackle. #34 Alberts made a good tackle. #86 Goelitz and #17 A. Bittner had a great tackle.

#11 Greenway and #27 Martinez had a tackle in the backfield. #14 Dreyer grabbed a punt and ran for better field position. #11 Greenway had a good run. #14 Dreyer had a good carry. #18 Werdeg had a quarterback keep for a 1st down. #21 Madsen had a good catch from #9 Ennis. #18 Werdeg had an amazing catch from #9 Ennis with a big run to follow. After the half, #17 A. Bittner had a great tackle. #47 Jackson Jr slowed the runner and #30 Inabi made the tackle. #18 Werdeg spun a Titans player around for a tackle. #83 and #11 Greenway had a good tackle. #11 Greenway and #16 Tyma had a tackle for turnover on downs. #17 A. Bittner had a great open field tackle. #9 Ennis found his way around some Titans players to make a great throw to #18 Werdeg. #44 Gonzalez slowed the runner and #47 Jackson Jr made the tackle by the shoes.

Blinged out for homecoming, they lite up the sidelines all game long. After the half, #2 Gordon had a good run. Then #5 Workman had a good run. #24 Sitko pushed a runner out of bounds. #17 Matula had a great backfield sack.

#5 Workman had a good tackle. #35 Carrillo and #17 Matula had a backfield tackle for turnover on downs. #24 Sitko had a good carry. #5 Workman recovered a fumble. #35 Carrillo, #17 Matula and #87 Reid-Doss had a tackle for a loss. #87 Reid-Doss slowed the runner and #12 Pettinga made the tackle. #5 Workman and #17 Matula had a backfield tackle. #2 Gordon ran crazy fast, all the way down the field, for a Stars touchdown. #5 Workman ran in for the extra point. #10 Gonsur had a great kick off that #5 Workman recovered for the Stars. #12 Pettinga had a great run. #5 Workman had a great run, plowing through Titans for another Stars touchdown. #10 Gonsur, for the first time this season, kicked for 2 points. #10 Gonsur, #5 Workman, and #24 Sitko worked together on a great tackle. #87 Reid-Doss made another tackle. This finished out the homecoming games with another first win of the season. Final Score, Stars 35, Titans 16.

The Stars will hit the road next weekend, as they play 3 away games in a row. Starting with the Midcrest Panthers next Sunday.
