
The Palos Stars played against the Midcrest Panthers at Shepard High School last Sunday. The Midcrest Panthers are a combination of the old Midlothian Wildcats and the Crestwood Colts. This piece of history is significant with this season being for Coach Lou. Before Coach Lou came to the Palos Stars, he helped run the Crestwood Colts youth football program. The game today, being the MidCrest Panthers and the Palos Stars, was fully rooted in the dedication of Coach Lou's love for youth football.

The Athletic Director of the MidCrest Panthers took a moment of silence for Coach Lou and presented Coach Lou's Daughter, Vanessa and Grandson, Braxton, with Crestwood Colts jerseys with Coach Lou's Name.
The Mighty-Mites had a great game of back and forth football, going touchdown for touchdown all game.

The Cheerleaders showcased their new uniforms as they cheered on the team.

The Widgets came on next. #78 Larkins ran for a Stars touchdown on the 2nd play of the game. The Stars forced a fumble that #78 Larkins recovered. #78 Larkins continued his great game by then running in for another Stars touchdown. #72 Ruggio had a great tackle. #23 Eid had a great backfield tackle for a big loss of yards.

After a fumbled snap by the Panthers, the Stars had a constellation backfield tackle. After a turnover on downs, #19 Inabi had a great carry. #78 Larkins had a good run, bouncing out of tackles as he went down the field. #23 Eid slowed the runner and #78 Larkins, #72 Ruggio, and #32 K. Al-Ibadi made the tackle. #19 Inabi hit the runner while #21 Storrs and #32 Al-Ibadi tackled him. #23 Eid and #72 Ruggio got into backfield but the Panthers got the ball passed off while going down. #27 Bowater was able to make the tackle on the receiver. #9 Vara made it to the outside and #27 Bowater had a great block that allowed #9 to run all the way down for a Stars touchdown. #23 Eid had another big backfield sack. #27 Bowater and #19 Inabi made a good tackle. #52 Ennis recovered wild snap from the Panthers. After the half, #78 Larkins made an outside tackle. #19 Inabi chased down the runner and tackled at the 5 yard line. #27 Bowater and #72 Ruggio had a tackle for no gain.

#72 Ruggio and #84 Smith had a tackle at the line of scrimmage. #2 Compean and #84 Smith had a good tackle. #21 Storrs and #72 Ruggio had a good tackle. #19 Inabi had a good carry. #9 Vara had a great carry. Final score Stars 18, Panthers 7.
The Pee-wees played after. #7 Quinn threw a great pass to #10 Dickerson, who ran in for a long Stars touchdown.

#5 Akel ran in for the extra point. #12 Williams had a great tackle. A Constellation tackle caused a loss of yards for the Panthers. #50 Cohs and #17 Clarke had a great tackle. Teamwork again helped the Stars as they made another constellation tackle. #5 Akel had a good carry. #10 Dickerson had a good carry. #7 Quinn slowed the runner while #57 Muhsen, #5 Akel and #50 Cohs made the tackle. #15 Lichtenberger had a great tackle. #57 Muhsen picked up the kick off at a great field position. #31 Bittner lead a constellation tackle. #33 Carrillo and #17 Clarke had a great tackle. #57 Muhsen slowed the runner and #5 Akel, #17 Clarke, and #30 Inabi tackled him. At halftime the Pee-wees Cheerleaders shower off new tricks as they got to new levels!

In a larger stadium, they still cheered loud and proud. #31 Bittner pushed a runner out of bounds. #17 Clarke tackled in the backfield. #46 Cooper and #17 Clarke had a good tackle. #17 Clarke then had a good carry. #7 Quinn had a good carry.

#50 Cohs and #42 Rodriguez had a great tackle at the final snap. Final score Stars 7, Panthers 28.
The JV teams were next. #11 Greenway picked up the Stars opening kick off. #30 Pearson grabbed a kick return right at the 50 yard line. #21 Madsen had a good carry. #47 Jackson Jr had a good carry. #44 Gonzalez had a great tackle, even as the Panthers player had ahold of his facemask.

#16 Tyma slowed runner and #44 Gonzalez made the tackle. #47 Jackson Jr had a great tackle. #9 Ennis had a good carry. #11 Greenway, #16 Tyma, and #47 Jackson Jr made a tackle. #16 Tyma and #80 Gray had a good tackle. #16 Tyma and #3 Flynn had a good tackle at the 2 yard line.

#11 Greenway and #25 Montoya tackled inches from the goal line. #30 Pearson and #34 Alberts tackled to stop Panthers just shy of goal line. This was a great show off teamwork to make a goal line stop and get s turnover on downs. #14 Dreyer had a great run.
The Varsity were up last. #5 Workman had a great tackle. #55 Fernandez blocked the extra point kick attempt. #24 Sitko had a good carry. #55 Fernandez had a good tackle. The Stars continued to hold Panthers and stopped them at 1 yard line. Continuing the day's trend of goal line stops by the Stars teams.

#35 Carrillo had a great tackle. #5 Workman had a tackle in the backfield. #5 Workman had a couple good carries for 1st downs. At the half, the Varsity Cheerleaders put on a great show full of flips and stunts along their loud and proud cheers.

After the half, #5 Workman pushed the runner out of bounds. #12 Pettinga had a good tackle.

#17 Matula had a great tackle. #43 Gutierrez tackled, forcing a fumble and #15 Render recovered it.
The Stars continue their away game stretch at Oak Forest next Saturday.
