After a few weeks of away games, the Palos Stars football and cheerleading program hosted the Alsip Falcons this past Saturday.
The Mighty-Mites pplayed first. #42 Coleman-Foster had a great run for a Stars touchdown on the 1st offensive play of the game. #65 Larkins had a great run for a Stars touchdown on the very next offensive play. #24 Carroll, #42 Coleman-Foster, and #38 Sotiropoulos had good carries. #65 Larkins had a great run to just shy of the goal line. #28 Rodgers picked up a fumbled snap and got a few yards. #67 Wodarski ran in for a Stars touchdown.

After finishing their numerous jumping jacks (6 for each touchdown made!), the Mighty-Mites Cheerleaders performed their halftime show.

At halftime, the Pee-wees cheerleaders preformed a great cheer, getting to new heights.

The JV teams were next. #16 Tyma had a great tackle on kick off. #44 Gonzalez had a great tackle. #17 A. Bittner had a great outside tackle. #47 Jackson Jr pushed the Falcons out of bounds. #11 Greenway got in the backfield quickly, slide across the grass and blocked the kick on the extra point attempt. #18 Werdeg had a great tackle on the outside. #18 Werdeg tackled to stop the extra point attempt. #11 Greenway and #30 Inabi had a great tackle at the line. #21 Madsen had a great tackle at the line. #21 Madsen, #16 Tyma, and #11 Greenway had a great tackle.

There were multiple Stars Constellation stops near the line of scrimmage. #2 Gordon had a great backfield tackle. #17 Matula had a great backfield tackle for turnover on downs. #5 Workman had a great run. #2 Gordon hsd a great long run on a 4th and 10 for a Stars touchdown. #5 Workman and #15 Render had a great tackle. #5 Workman caught an interception and then had a great run for a Stars 1st down. #7 Portugues had a great run for a Stars 1st down. #12 Pettinga had a great run for another Stars 1st down. #7 Portugues held on tight for a great tackle. #5 Workman had a great tackle. At halftime, the Varsity Cheerleaders performed with great stunts and loud cheers.
They really are number 1! After the half, #35 Carrillo had a great tackle. #5 Workman and #35 Carrillo tackled at the line of scrimmage. #5 Workman and #7 Portugues had a great tackle.

Then, a great run by 5 for a big Stars 1st down. #2 Gordon had a good carry to get some more yards. #5 Workman good carry up the middle for a 1st down at the 10 yard line. #5 Workman reached across goal line for a Stars touchdown. Final Score was Stars 12, Falcons 14. The Stars Varsity team looked great out there and played with a lot of heart.
The Stars will play their last home game of the 2025 season this coming Saturday. The 8th graders will be recognized, as this will be there very last football game on the Stars field.
