Palos Village Players Present: "Rehearsal for Murder"
"It's not just a play—it's a puzzle where every piece could be a clue... or a red herring!"
Article by Dana Hall
Palos Park, IL – The Palos Village Players open their 83rd season with their upcoming production of Rehearsal for Murder by D.D. Brooke, a thrilling murder mystery filled with suspense, twists, and captivating performances, directed by Frann Carnivele of Orland Park and Gina Dicksen of Tinley Park.
In Rehearsal for Murder, the stage is set, the lights are dimmed, and the suspects—or are they just actors?—take their places. The talented cast brings the intrigue and drama to life with Peter Buchacz as Lloyd Andrews, a director who knows how to play the game but might not be playing fair. Sarah Callis takes on the role of the Female Cop, keeping a sharp eye on everyone while trying to solve the mystery. Andrew Dicksen plays Alex Dennison, the playwright with a plan—perhaps too many plans. Ken Evans portrays Ernie, the building's caretaker who’s handy with tools but might be hiding something. Michael Galbincea steps in as Mac, an observer who sees all—though not everything is as it seems.
Denise Goad shines as Loretta, the stage manager who may know more than she’s letting on, while Tim Hamelen plays David Matthews, a charming leading man with possible motives of his own. Ted Holste is Santoro, the moving man-but is that his only job? Jill Jeffrey brings laughter as Sally Bean, the comedic relief who could find herself in trouble, and Austin Lutvi takes the stage as Frank Heller, the man pulling the strings—but whose strings are being pulled? Gina Lutvi portrays Monica Welles, the late star whose tragic end sparked the mystery?
Adding to the intrigue, Bryan Riess plays Leo Gibbs, the actor caught in the spotlight of truth or fiction, Julie Thomas is Karen Daniels, the glamorous actress, who is sick of always being in the background, and Julie Zebleckis is Bella Lamb, the producer who might be more than she seems. With every twist and turn, this incredible ensemble keeps the audience guessing. Can you figure out who’s innocent, who’s guilty, and who’s just playing along?
This talented ensemble brings the suspense and drama to life in this engaging murder mystery that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
