Resident Discovers Unauthorized Charges After Mysterious Text Message

PALOS HILLS, IL — A Palos Hills resident discovered several unauthorized charges on their credit card account after receiving a text that was supposedly from their bank, reports said.

The resident came to the Palos Hills police station to report a deceptive practice on Feb. 13. The month, the resident said they received a text from Citibank asking if they made a purchase at an investment company.

When the resident logged into their Citibank credit card account, they discovered several unauthorized charges totalling $2,835. Police said all the charges were made in the past month.
