Shred Your Papers, Drop Off Your Old Pills, Saturday, At Palos Heights Metra Parking Lot

The City of Palos Heights, Lake Katherine and Palos Heights Public Library offer free document shredding and pill drop off Aug. 23.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Shred your papers and drop off your pills Saturday, Aug. 23, hosted by the City of Palos Heights, Lake Katherine Nature Center and the Palos Heights Public Library.

The FREE Document Shredding and Pill Drop-off runs from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Palos Heights Metra Lot, 11451 Southwest Highway. There is a 2-box limit per vehicle or until the truck is full.
Document shredding is supplied by Shark Shredding, which requests that residents”

  • Use boxes or paper bags (NO plastic bags)
  • Place your boxes in the truck or back seat for removal
  • Remove the staples, clips, etc.
  • A volunteer will take your items
  • Boxes will be returned to your vehicle
  • For Palos Heights residents only, proof of residency required)

Palos Heights police will also be on hand to take your old, leftover prescriptions and expired over-the-counter medications.
