The Week that Was: Sept. 6 - Sept. 11

We take a look back at some of the stories Palos Patch has covered in the past week.

As we do every Sunday, Palos Patch offers you a recap of the stories we have covered in the previous week.

  • Our ongoing real estate series took a look at the housing market in Palos Hills and how home prices are holding up. Check us out on Monday and Tuesday when we will explore the market in Palos Park.
  • With fall fast approaching, we explored the reasons why this summer was swarming with mosquitoes.
  • Residents of Palos Heights had their Memorial Day interrupted with a police search complete with helicopter. We explained what happened.
  • Palos Park police were out in full force over Labor Day weekend promoting safe driving as they issued dozens of citations to motorists.
  • We explained what happened at the Palos Heights City Council meeting, and the council's decision to rezone portions of Tiffany Square Shopping Center.
  • In sports coverage we interviewed Chicago Christian's quarterback, covered Stagg vs. Sandburg in girl's volleyball, and recapped Stagg's big loss against Lincoln-Way North.
  • In Palos Hills we recapped the city council's committee meeting and took a look at the winners of this years home and business beautification contest.

Be sure to visit Palos Patch this week. I am confident that we are preparing what will be our best week of coverage yet. You can also find us on Twitter and Facebook. If you have a story you think should be covered e-mail me at Daniell@patch.com.
