Voters Send Incumbents Back To Palos Heights D128 School Board
Voters sent three incumbents back to the Palos Heights Dist. 128 school board in the April 4 consolidated election.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Voters sent three incumbents back to the Palos Heights Dist. 128 school board in Tuesday’s consolidated election. Challenger Joe Young finished last in the 4-way race.

She currently works as a paraprofessional at … Her many civic involvements include treasurer of Palos-Orland League of Women Voters, coordinator of the spring craft show at Shepard High School, and is a past member of the CHSD 218 Foundation.
Patti Powell was elected to her second term on the school board. She is a 24-year resident of Palos Heights. She served as a professor of special education at Trinity Christian College for 20 years, and a music teacher at Elim Christian Services for 15 years. Powell holds a Ph.D in curriculum and instruction from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Gail Rubio has been a resident of Palos Heights since 2010. She is the mother of three Dist. 128 graduates, and has a fifth-grader currently in the system. Rubio is a former high school teacher and currently serves as director for special services for CHSD 230.
Voter turnout in the district was 10.39 percent. Out of 7,852 registered voters, 816 ballots were cast, according to the Cook County Clerk. .
