Traveling Tolerance Roadshow Hits Area Next Week

The Mobile Museum of Tolerance will be in Geneseo for public visits Sept. 26-27.

GENESEO - Efforts to combat hate and intolerance have visited all across Illinois this summer, and now will be in our area next week.

The Mobile Museum of Tolerance is a traveling educational roadshow aimed at helping people understand and fight hateful behavior and mindsets. Read more here about the Sept. 26-27 visit to Geneseo and where the MMOT has been this summer:

The Mobile Museum of Tolerance is an arm of the Simon Wiesenthal Center: https://mmot.com/. The MMOT is the first traveling education center of its kind in the United States and visits school districts and public places across Illinois to offer free education and awareness about the very real threat of hate and intolerance in our communities.

The MMOT has proven very popular since its creation, and is now booked to appear in school districts and libraries throughout Illinois well into 2025. The bus offers workshops and a hands-on educational platform to reach thousands of students and encourage them to speak against bullying, hate, racism, anti-Semitism, and much more.

The bus will visit your area:
· Tuesday-Wednesday, Sept. 26-27
· Sept 26: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Sept. 27: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
· Geneseo Public Library (805 N. Chicago St., Geneseo, IL)
