The roundup also highlights strong performances from Kankakee, Reed-Custer, and several other area programs in boys and girls action.
   

• Child Network's new executive director gets settled (shawlocal.com) — A Peotone High School graduate, Brianne Hetman, is now leading the Child Network, which supports abused children across Kankakee and Iroquois counties and is ramping up volunteer recruitment for 2026. She’s urging local residents to consider becoming CASA volunteers to guide kids through the court system and provide a steady, trusted adult presence.
