30 Seat Belt Citations During Plainfield Holiday Campaign
The enforcement also resulted in a felony drug arrest.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield Police partnered with the Illinois Department of Transportation and law enforcement across the state for the 2019 holiday “Click it or Ticket” campaign.
From Dec. 16 through Jan. 2, law enforcement showed zero tolerance for those who failed to buckle up.

- 13 speeding citations
- 18 distracted driving citations
- 11 other citations
- 1 felony drug arrest
The Plainfield Police ramped up its usual enforcement efforts during the holiday season. Extra emphasis was placed on late-night hours, when statistics show most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur.
The Illinois “Click it or Ticket” campaign is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation with federal highway safety funds managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
