53 Seat Belt Tickets During Plainfield 4th Of July Campaign

Police also issued citations for child car seat violation and using electronic communication devices.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield Police issued 53 seat belt citations during the recent Fourth of July "Click It Or Ticket" safety campaign.

In addition, the following other citations were issued:

  • 6 child car seat citations
  • 9 uninsured motorist citations
  • 9 speeding citations
  • 8 illegal use of electronic communication device citations
  • 15 other citations

Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this statewide effort to encourage seat belt use.

Plainfield Police joined forces with more than 160 other state and local law enforcement agencies conducting the crackdown, which featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities including a media campaign.

The recent law enforcement effort was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Click It or Ticket” program.
