Bonuchi said she called Argoudelis Wednesday morning to congratulate him on the win. Read her statement, shared on Facebook:

I just want to thank everyone who supported me, worked for me and stood by me for the Mayoral Race. As we know, it didn't land in my favor but I am very proud of the race we ran. I presented the facts, ideas and thoughts but kept my race above board and focused.

I called Mayor Argoudelis this morning and congratulated him and we had a pleasant conversation.

Love to my [husband] Roger who is always there with me and gives his unwavering support and love, no matte what. I didn't lose when I have him, a loving family and the most [unbelievable] friends anyone could ask for.

So now the race is over, time to move forward with some new trustees veteran trustees and our phenomenal staff. Thank you everyone!!!!

Larson, whose term on the Village Board expires on April 20, said she "may be out of the Plainfield political arena in 30 days, but that’s only as an Elected Official," adding that more opportunities are ahead.

Read her letter, published on Facebook Tuesday night, here:

The best compliment tonight…..

“You could manage and lead this Village in that job like no one else and make so much change, but you’re a terrible politician”. Well, Thank you. And yes, You know who you are.

But, it’s true. I’ve never been a good politician. In the last 8 years and 3 elections- I’ve spoken truth, called the bull when the pile of it was dished out and I’ve slept fine knowing I was never willing to sell myself out or this town for campaign checks. I’ve voted with peace on my heart to always do what’s best for the community before being worried about my personal interest or wallet.

Having just turned 39, knowing I’ve dedicated 8 years to this community; I am grateful. I’ve spoken out loud what others are thinking, I’ve had the hard conversations others were too afraid to have, what and how I voted on in executive session mirrored in public session and I didn’t pander to the games.

Plainfield will have a Mayor that can’t play the blame game any longer. Argoudelis rode the coat tails of success of past Boards…so the ships that sail and the ships that sink will be held accountable back to one person. While you’ll hear grandstanding about a large win tonight, remember that nearly 40% of this community said “no thank you” to having John Argoudelis as their Mayor. They heard and know the truth, and arent buying whats being sold.

The standard is set higher now more than ever and Argoudelis has to write a check for $53,000 to the Plainfield tax payers to even take the oath of office. A ruled guilty fraud remains as Plainfields Mayor, but in 30 days time for me, tip toeing as an elected official no longer remains a restricted handcuff. As a “private citizen”, there is a new door of opportunity ahead. I may be out of the Plainfield political arena in 30 days, but that’s only as an Elected Official. God has amazing plans ahead and in store for each and every one of us. To Bobby and family, you have put up with alot over the years- weekly late meetings, lots of calls, hateful social media, but we have met some beautiful people along the way I am proud we have come to know and love and I am grateful for the unconditional love and support you’ve shown thru it all. Thank you to those friends, residents and supporters that saw the truth, that spoke up, that put faith over fear. You are the true leaders and heros in this community. “Thank Yous” dont belong to candidates tonight- they belong to you, the patriots that spoke up and showed up. You are the reason for continuing a journey of transparency and demanding better from our elected officials. You are the winners tonight. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I am grateful and proud to have been on this journey.

God Bless,
Cally

In his post-election statement, Calkins focused on residents and their voices, much like he did throughout his campaign:

Thank you to all who supported my campaign! I appreciate each one of you. Although it didn't go our way, please remember your voice is still important, don't be afraid to ask questions and make suggestions. To all the candidates who won in the Village of Plainfield and the Township, Good Luck! You are faced with some big issues that will have a lasting impact on Plainfield's future. Stay strong and remember that you ultimately work for the RESIDENTS of this great town. They are counting on you!

A new group of trustees were also elected onto the Village Board Tuesday. With three openings, the three candidates — Siv Panicker, Vanessa Sula and incumbent Tom Ruane — were shoo-ins. The expiring seats are currently filled by Ruane, Larson and Patricia Kalkanis.

Voter turnout in both counties was low, with about 15.49 percent in Will County and 14.27 percent in Kendall County, results show.
