Lois Norton (née Jennings), 88, a lifelong and beloved resident of Minooka, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. Born on June 2, 1937 to the late Angela (Feeney) and Arthur Jennings, Lois grew up in Minooka and attended Minooka High School.
Lois co-owned Cookie’s restaurant with her husband, Edward “Cookie” Norton, until his passing in 2011. The restaurant was more than a business—it was an extension of their home and heart.

Her greatest joys were rooted in her faith and in the family, she cherished above all else being a mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Lois nurtured a legacy of love that will be carried forward by the many lives she touched. She truly made her mark on the small town that was her lifelong home.
Lois leaves behind her children, Kathleen (Nick) Hammen of Morris, Angela (Keith) Robinson of Minooka, Susan (Jeff) Stenzel of Seneca, Edward (Laura) Norton of Minooka, Peggy (Mike) Smania of Minooka, and Laura (Stephen) Seper of Minooka; her sister-in-law Helene Nelson of Brighton, Colorado; and dozens of beloved grandchildren. She will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Cookie” Norton; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Juanita Jennings; and her sister, June Kisellus.
Funeral services for Lois Norton were held privately.
In honor of Lois's kind and giving spirit, memorials in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
