Tell us why they deserve to be nominated!

Cassie knew from a very young age that she wanted to dedicate her life to the care, conservation, and welfare of all animals. Her fierce passion and devotion motivated her to persevere through the challenges of a rigorous education. During veterinary school, Cassie rehabilitated and released many species of birds of prey through the Raptor Rehabilitation Project, such as bald eagles, great horned owls, and red-tailed hawks. Cassie was grateful to be able to travel to South Africa and work with incredible animals, such as white and black rhinos, giraffes, cape buffalo, and multiple species of antelope. Her favorite experience was being able to vaccinate wildebeest via dart gun from a helicopter! In her spare time, Cassie worked as a bat caretaker, rehabilitating various species of bats and working on research projects to aid in their survival. She received certification in Wildlife and Avian Medicine as well.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about your graduating student nominee?

Cassie is extremely excited for her next adventure pursuing a wildlife medicine internship at the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Texas.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Cassandra!
