Here's Why A Plainfield Program Supervisor Was Cited As A Local Hero
Tania Hess "works tirelessly" to ensure an important program at the Plainfield Public Library is impactful, according to the submission.

PLAINFIELD, IL — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
This submission comes from Arlene Branz who nominated Tania Hess of Plainfield. Branz is supervised by Hess as part of an English as a second language program.

How do you know the local hero?
She is the supervisor of all tutors, of which I am one, for the English as a second language program held at Plainfield Public Library.
What does the local hero do?
She coordinates all the tutors, classes and materials for the ESL program at Plainfield Public Library. She tests and places adults wishing to learn English with the proper tutor/class and materials. She works tirelessly to assure the program helps as many individuals as possible. As a result, we have helped numerous immigrants become contributing members of our society.

She is an immigrant and thus is able to relate to their struggles.
