KENDALL COUNTY, IL - Kendall County and Aurora will soon join more than 2,000 communities across the U.S. to help end hunger, both on a local and international level.
The Kendall County CROP Hunger Walk is set for Sunday, Sept. 24, at Oswego Presbyterian Church, 1976 Route 25. Festivities kick off at 1 p.m. with lunch, registration and activities for kids. This year's event represents a collaboration among members of about a dozen area churches. Walkers will step off at 1:30 p.m. on the Waubonsie Trail.
CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by religious groups, businesses, schools and others in an effort to raise money to end hunger in the U.S. and around the world, according to the organization's website. The local fundraiser also supports the Kendall County Community Food Pantry, Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry and Sandwich Board.
