'Lookalike AR-15' Turned Out To Be Paintball Gun: Plainfield PD
Police received complaints of a man walking down the street with a rifle late Friday morning and took him into custody.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Officers responding to reports of a man walking down the street holding a rifle learned the "lookalike AR-15" was really a paintball gun, Plainfield police said Friday.
Cmdr. Anthony Novak told Patch that Plainfield officers, along with Will County deputies and the Forest Preserve District of Will County, responded to reports of an armed man near Feeney Drive and Lily Cache Road just before noon.
A short time later, police spotted the man in the area of Route 30 and Frontage Road, near the BP Amoco gas station, holding what appeared to be an AR-15. However, Novak said the weapon was actually a paintball gun.
