No School In Plainfield: Another Day Off Due To Bus Issues

Although the district planned to resume classes Friday, transportation issues prompted another cancellation.

PLAINFIELD, IL — After two days off school due to the polar vortex and dangerous cold, students in District 202 will get another day off despite a bit of a warmup. Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 said school is canceled on Friday, Feb. 1, this time due to mechanical issues with the district's diesel school buses.

"We are making this decision for the safety of our students," the district said in an alert to parents.

Similar issues caused cancellations in nearby Troy School District 30-C and Joliet School District 86.
