Barry retired from Home Depot as a department head after many years of dedicated service. He devoted many years to coaching a variety of grade-school sports, guiding young athletes with patience, pride, and a genuine love for the game. A true sports fanatic, he faithfully supported all Chicago teams- with the notable exception of the Cubs. An avid fisherman, Barry found joy and peace in any chance he could get to be casting his pole. One of his most meaningful experiences was traveling to Washington, D.C., on the Honor Flight with his son Joseph. He had a great amount of respect for all veterans, and was a member of the East Hazel Crest American Legion Post 1139.

Barry is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; children, Joseph (Amanda) Jezewski, Christine (Kevin) Whitmer, and Kevin (Mandy) Jezewski; grandchildren, Branden, Emma, Alexis, Ashley, Noah, Zachary, Carter, and Evelyn; sister, Cheryl Hokens- Breo, and several nieces and nephews.
