Suzanne Honiotes

It is with great sorrow that we come together as family and friends to mourn the loss of a most loving and generous soul, Suzanne Honiotes. She passed peacefully in the twilight hour on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at St. Joseph Medical Center, where she herself spent many years caring for people during her nursing career.

Suzanne began as a surgical nurse in St. Louis, working tirelessly while bringing up 5 boys, all born within 7 years of each other. Suzanne later became instrumental in the Lamaze program, where she coached the fundamentals of the birthing process to a great number of new parents in Joliet and the surrounding areas. She worked as a pediatric nurse for many years before she decided to get her Masters Degree in early childhood development. From there she worked as a school nurse for Joliet and Coal City schools.

Her love for animals began as a child, growing up around her grandparents’ farm. As an adult, Suzanne had a number of horses throughout the years, adoring each and every one. She also had chickens and harvested their eggs, as well as ducks, goats, cats, and dogs; cherishing each and every one. She enjoyed being at her lake house, as it was always busy with her beloved grandchildren and pets.
