Plainfield Bridal Shop Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Giveaways

Ten years ago, Sarah Arrigoni and Robin Youell were twenty-something college friends with a dream: To start their own business.

Now, they’re celebrating a decade of helping brides look beautiful.

White Satin Bridal, 24047 W. Lockport St., is marking its anniversary with a series of giveaways on its Facebook page.

The shop offers wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, tuxedos, prom dresses and accessories.

For the entire month of January, “We’re trying to do a different giveaway every other day,” Arrigoni said.

So far, other local businesses including HopScotch & Vine, Versed Salon and Me Tu Boutique, to name a few, have pitched in by donating prizes.

“We’ve gotten an overwhelming response from downtown Plainfield,” Arrigoni said.

White Satin fans can find out what the prize of the day is by keeping an eye on the business’ Facebook page. To enter to win a prize, just like, comment or share the post.

Arrigoni said winners are chosen randomly and are announced within 24 hours of each post.

Although January is halfway over, “We have a lot left to give away,” she said.

The event is a way of thanking customers for their support over the last decade.

“Originally, we chose Plainfield because it was the No. 1 growing city in Illinois,” Arrigoni said. “We loved the quaint, cute downtown.”

Over the last decade, downtown Plainfield has seen lots of changes, including the Lockport Street streetscape project and the coming and going of numerous businesses, she noted.

“Now it’s getting better, with new businesses, new restaurants,” Arrigoni said. “For us, it is a destination.”

The shop ’s hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; noon to 9 p.m. Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
