Plainfield Mayor Mike Collins Gives State of the Village Address

Plainfield Mayor Mike Collins delivered his state of the village address last Wednesday at Naperville's Tamarack Golf Club. The mayor outlined several economic initiative and opportunities to civic and business leaders.

Initiatives the mayor mentioned included the following:

• Pace Park-n-Ride
• 143rd Street Extension
• Road improvements on Route 30
• Entryway Signage
• Street Improvement Program
• Reducing traffic congestion caused by the CN railway

The mayor said that Metronet had placed 750,000 feet of fiber throughout the village, and he noted that Comcast was reviewing their infrastructure in Plainfield as well.

The mayor also presented the village's economic development, which featured new and planned businesses.
