Plainfield Railroad Crossings Close For Repairs

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police have announced the following closures as Canadian National Railroad plans to repair these crossings:

• Lockport Street (east of IL Route 59): May 20-24
• Eastern Avenue: May 22-24
• Center Street: May 28-30

The repairs will require full closure of the crossings to complete the work and no traffic will be allowed across the railroad tracks during the closures, police said. The posted detour route will use Route 59 and US Route 30 to the west, Renwick Road to the south and Weber Road to the east for the Lockport Street closure.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone near the railroad tracks for all the crossings, police said.
