Plainfield Police Reveal Number Of Citations Issued During Christmas, NYE Enforcement
Over the course of about three weeks, Plainfield police focused on ensuring drivers were properly buckled.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police concluded early Monday their final enforcement campaign of 2025, encompassing Christmas and New Year's Eve.
Over the course of the campaign, which began Dec. 12 and went until Jan. 5, officers issued a total of 19 citations, officials announced Tuesday evening.
Citations included 18 for seat belt violations and one for no driver's license, police said. Plainfield police used the campaign to focus on ensuring drivers were properly buckled.

The enforcement was administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation using federal highway safety funds managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
