Police Warn Of Plainfield Package Thefts
"We would love to catch one of these porch pirates," police said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police are warning that several packages have been stolen from front porches across the city, and in one case a man wearing a safety vest was seen standing in the driveway of the victim's house.
"Not to say that everyone that wears a safety vest is a criminal, or that all porch pirates wear a vest, but thieves have been known to wear safety vests to appear more official and to throw off a witness's eyes," police wrote on Facebook, adding that some thieves sometimes dress well and carry a clipboard to further confuse residents.
