Protect Against Package Thieves: Plainfield PD
Here's how to avoid porch pirates, police say.
PLAINFIELD, IL — With the holidays approaching and many getting their shopping done online, Plainfield police are warning residents to guard against pesky porch pirates.
Police advised these tips to avoid losing packages to thieves:
- Have packages sent to your office
- Ask a trusted neighbor to accept the package
- Use an Amazon Locker for delivery
- Arrange package pickup at a USPS facility
"Should ye spy a suspicious pirate in your neighborhood, please call us right away (at) 815-436-2341," police said.
