Schedule Announced For 2019 Movies, Concerts In Settlers' Park

PLAINFIELD, IL — The weather is warming up and soon, summer festival season will begin. In Plainfield, free movies and concerts will also begin in Settlers' Park. The Village of Plainfield just released this year's lineup of family movies and the 201 concert performers.

The Village of Plainfield and Plainfield Park District will host the events in the Richard A. Rock Amphitheater. Settlers' Park is located in Downtown Plainfield, southeast of the intersection of Lockport Street and Van Dyke Road, and just south of the Village Hall. Parking is available in the Village Hall Parking Lot, on Village Center Drive and on Van Dyke Road.

If inclement weather is forecast, movies will be canceled and concerts may be brought indoors or rescheduled. Call the Settlers' Park Event Hotline at 815-6096-6124 or visit the village website for updates after 4 p.m. the day of the event.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and bug spray. Concessions will be available at events, and the Kona Ice Truck will be back for the Movies in the Park.

This year, movies begin at 8:30 p.m. on a 20-foot inflatable screen on the following Fridays:

• June 7: Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018); sponsored by Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Inc.
• June 21: The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part (2019); sponsored by Baxter & Woodman, Inc.
• July 12: Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018)
• July 26: Incredibles 2 (2018), sponsored by Waste Management

This year's concerts in the park are presented by Greg and Dorothy Chapman. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. on the following Thursdays:

• June 13: Johnny Russler & The Beach Bum Band; sponsored by Aerotek Design Labs, LLC
• July 18: Shout Out; sponsored by Illinois American Water
• Aug. 1: Rosie & The Rivets; sponsored by Illinois American Water
