Teachers Strike May Be Next Step In Plainfield School District 202
A negotiation impasse could spur a strike among Plainfield teachers, according to reports.

PLAINFIELD - A negotiation impasse could spur a strike among Plainfield teachers, according to reports.
Representatives from the Association of Plainfield Teachers in District 202 expressed their disappointment about the frozen negotiations in a press release, citing lower teacher salaries locally than those in competing districts like Oswego and Yorkville.
"APT officials say no strike is scheduled at this time, however, educators in the district have been working without a contract since since the start of the new school year," WSPY News reported, referencing a Sept. 20 meeting to plan for a possible strike. "The declaration of impasse means both sides will be required to submit their last and best offers to the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board for public posting."
