Vietnam Reenactment Set For Plainfield Central High School
Demonstrators will be shooting blanks, but the program will be loud.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A week after an active shooter drill at a Plainfield elementary school, the district is telling residents to expect loud noises and gunshot sounds during a Vietnam battle reenactment at Plainfield Central High School, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive. The demonstration will take place throughout the school day on Monday, April 15.
"Weather permitting, this program will feature an outdoor battle reenactment including a semiautomatic rifle demonstration," Director of Community Relations Tom Hernandez said in an email. "The demonstrators will be shooting blanks. The demonstration is safe but the guns are very loud."
The Plainfield Police Department is aware of the demonstration and is also spreading the word to residents.
