Annual Holiday Decoration Contest To Start Next Week: Romeoville

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Registration has started for the Village Beautification Commission's 35th annual Holiday Decoration Contest. Any decorated home may be nominated by a resident. To register a home call: (815) 886-5022 or e-mail llynch@romeoville.org. Registration ends 5 p.m. on Dec. 13.

Houses will be judged on Monday, Dec. 16. All nominated houses should leave their lights on from 5:30 – 10:30 p.m. Only homes with lights turned on will be judged. Judging will be based on the creative use of outdoor decorations.

Three prizes will be awarded in each region of the village: East: North, Central, South and West: North, Central, South (First Place winners are eligible once every 3 years). Prizes are as follows: First Place: $75 Gift Certificate, Second Place: $50 Gift Certificate, 3Third Place: $30 Gift Certificate. Winners will be posted on www.romeoville.org on Thursday, Dec 19.

The village will host tours of the winning homes On Dec. 19 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The bus departs from the Recreation Center. Call 815-886-6222 for more information.
