Apartment Fire Reported Early Tuesday In Romeoville: Fire District

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental and is being investigated by the Lockport Fire Investigators.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — No one was injured in an apartment fire early Tuesday, according to the Lockport Township Fire Protection District.

Firefighters responded at 12:13 a.m. Tuesday to a fire on the balcony of a second-floor apartment unit in the 1300 block of Mews Lane in Romeoville, the district said.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire, and the sprinkler system was activated and able to keep the fire from spreading until crews could complete extinguishment, the fire district said. There was damage to the exterior of the building, with minor damage to the interior of the affected unit.
