Basement Fire Leaves Romeoville Home Uninhabitable
The family of six was able to safely evacuate the home prior to the fire departments' arrival and no injuries were reported.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — A basement fire in Romeoville left a home uninhabitable on Saturday, the fire department said. The Lockport Township Fire Protection District responded to a house in the 300 block of Wallace Way at 5:37 p.m.
Fire officials found a basement fire and it was quickly brought under control which limited fire damage to the basement, but the entire house sustained smoke damage.
The family of six was able to safely evacuate the home prior to the fire departments' arrival and no injuries were reported, the fire district said.

Mutual aid assistance from Romeoville and Troy Fire Departments responded to the scene while Bolingbrook, East Joliet, New Lenox, NW Homer, and Plainfield provided coverage in the Lockport stations.
Fire Investigators from Lockport and Romeoville investigated the fire which appears to be accidental in nature.
