Spyridon Nicholas Janetis, a loving, warmhearted, and passionate man, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 22, 1964, in Elmhurst, Illinois, Spiro was the cherished son of the late Nicholas and Lela Janetis. He was raised in Westchester and proudly graduated from Proviso West High School. Spiro found joy in life’s simple pleasures—playing cards and board games, watching sports, and, most of all, spending time with those he loved. These moments were never just pastimes, but opportunities to connect, laugh, and create lasting memories with family and friends. His gentle spirit, kindness, and passion for life will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Spiro is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Michelle (née Heggaton) Janetis; his beloved children, Alexandra Janetis, Melanie Janetis, and Nicholas Janetis; and his treasured grandson, Spiro Janetis, of whom he was an immensely proud Papoulis. He is also survived by his sisters, Angel (Jeff) Leitner and Kathy Niforatos; his niece, Casper Leitner; his nephews, Matthew and Joshua Niforatos; as well as many cousins and dear friends whom he considered family.
