Romeoville Hosting Dr. Seuss-Themed Founder's Day Parade Sunday

Nearly 70 local groups, clubs and businesses will participate in the march.

ROMEOVILLE, IL —Romeoville's annual Founder's Day Parade will take place Sunday, with this year's theme being "Dr. Seuss in Romeoville." Nearly 70 community groups, municipal entities, bands and businesses are slated to march in the parade.

The parade kicks off at 2 p.m. at Newland Avenue and Belmont Drive, and will end at Dalhart Avenue and Alexander Circle. Those participating in the parade are asked to arrive at the starting line by 1 p.m.

Roads along the parade route are likely to be blocked or congested, according to the village. To check out the parade route and a list of closed streets, click here.

This year's parade will award prizes in the following categories: best non-professional float, most decorated vehicle, mayor's choice, best theme award, best overall band and judge's choice. Awards will be announced at the Village board meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
