Romeoville To Offer Youth Arts And Crafts Classes This Spring

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Officials with Romeoville's Parks and Recreation Department say more than 15 arts and crafts classes are on the schedule in the village this winter and spring. Here's a run down of all that's on offer:

Crafty Kids

Kids Crafts Corner
Express your creativity during Kids Craft Corner! In this relaxing environment, participants will explore individuality, build confidence, and make friends. Exciting new projects will be offered each session. Cartoon Kids

Valen-Slime — A Slimeology Lab
Make Valentine’s Day themed slime that smells like chocolate, fresh cut roses, or chocolate covered strawberries in vibrant colors. Stop Cupid’s arrow by using your slime to capture him as we play a slimey Valentine game! A themed snack will be served and kids take their slime home. Youth Private Music Lessons
Experience specialized fun, high quality instruction that gets results. Sign up for thirty minute private lessons at the Recreation Department front desk (fill out form and make payment). You will be contacted to set up days and times for the lessons once the paid registration has been received. Instruments are not provided. Sessions run from January to May and are open to ages 3 to 18. Lessons come in bundles of four, eight or 12. Four lessons cost $140 for residents and $210 for non-residents. eight lessons costs $240 for residents and $360 for non-residents. Twelve lessons cost $300 for residents and $450 for non-residents.

Parent-tot Spanish

I Speak Spanish!

Kinder Kids
Kinder Kids is an excellent way to introduce young children to dramatic art! Participants work on non-verbal communication and movement, as well as develop speech with ad-libbing and memorization of mini-scripts along with a variety of theater games. DKI Acting Academy is for tweens and teens to become confident public speakers and for those who want to expand upon their current level of acting skill. Participants learn to think much more creatively and feel more comfortable expressing themselves. This foundation can have a remarkable impact on academic, personal and future professional success! Typical class lessons consist of speech training, monologues, character analysis, memorization of mini-scripts, group improvisations, production techniques and theater games.
