ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville Parks and Rec Department is looking for a few good part time employees. Open position include child care attendants, indoor playground/birthday party attendants, youth program instructors and gymnastics instructors.

"From the program or class instructors, the parks maintenance staff, clean up at special events, bus drivers, janitors, front desk supervisors or fitness attendants — every employee matters! All duties are vitally important to the overall success of our department."

Child Care Attendants
Provide child supervision for Romeoville Recreation Center participants in Child Care and the Jungle Safari Indoor Playground. Attendants will supervise children ages six months and up in the Indoor Playground or Creative Play Fun Room and act as the Indoor Playground Attendant and supervise participants of the Indoor Playground. Duties include create and lead child activities, enforce the policies and rules of the Indoor Playground or Creative Play Fun Room, clean up the Indoor Playground or Creative Play Fun Room after babysitting hours, collect entry fees from participants, report accidents and incidents that occur, inform parents of program policies and information, develop positive relationships with participants, handle complaints and direct them to the proper Supervisor, follow the Recreation Department’s safety and emergency procedures, participate in scheduled staff meetings, trainings, and events, maintain ongoing, open communication with Supervisor, be flexible and interact cooperatively with fellow staff members,follow the ServicExcellence program and standards and attend mandatory CPR and First Aid trainings. Indoor Playground/Birthday Party Attendants
Provide child supervision and lead activities during birthday parties at the Romeoville Recreation Center. Duties include working with Recreation Center Supervisor and Program Supervisor to schedule parties, coordinate and supervise party details, such as serving food and refreshments, present opening time and playtime in the Jungle Safari Indoor Playground, Gymnasium, Gymnastics room, Drdak room, or any other room in use for the assigned party, informing direct supervisor of needed party supplies, responsible for setting up and cleaning the Celebration Room and Indoor Playground, Gymnasium, Gymnastics room, Drdak room, or any other room in use for the assigned party, supervise children at the Jungle Safari Indoor Playground, Gymnasium, Gymnastics room, Drdak room, or any other room in use for the assigned party during the birthday party, report accidents and incidents that occur, inform parents of program policies and information, handle complaints and direct them to the proper Supervisor, enforce the policies and rules of the Recreation Department, follow the Recreation Department’s safety and emergency procedures, participate in scheduled staff meetings, trainings, and events, maintain ongoing, open communication with Supervisor, be flexible and interact cooperatively with fellow staff members, follow the ServicExcellence program and standards and attend mandatory CPR and First Aid trainings. Youth Program (kids craft corner, art, photography, calligraphy, painting, STEAM, fishing, etc.) Instructors
The Romeoville Recreation Department is seeking a multitalented Youth Program Instructor. The Youth Program Instructor will be responsible for planning and instructing a diverse set of youth general interest programs. Topics of instruction can include arts and crafts, drawing, painting, photography, calligraphy, STEM, fishing, and more! Individuals must have the ability to adapt to the needs of different age groups and have experience working with children in an enrichment setting. Applicants should possess a fun, creative, and outgoing personality with the ability to inspire creativity and confidence. Gymnastics Instructors
The Romeoville Recreation Department is currently seeking experienced, highly motivated, energetic, and responsible gymnastics instructors. Ability to effectively communicate with participants, parents, and staff is crucial. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist with the instruction, coaching, and evaluation of participants; daily instruction and spotting; work individually with participants to help them progress; assist with preparation and set-up of gymnastics equipment; assist with preparation of lesson plans; maintain accurate records; and follow all safety policies and procedures.
