Teen Shot On Weber Road, 2 Arrested

The shooting closed a section of Weber Road for several hours Thursday.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting Romeoville police are describing as an "isolated incident" near Weber and Airport roads. Despite initial witness statements indicating the shooting occurred in the Crest Hill Police Department's jurisdiction near Renwick Road on Weber, Romeoville police said further investigation revealed an 18-year-old Crest Hill man was actually shot in the area of Weber Road and Airport.

The teen, 18-year-old Carlos Gasca of Crest Hill, was taken to AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Bolingbrook. Romeoville police did not have any additional information on his condition or the extent of his injuries.

Police said two Romeoville residents, 19-year-old Eric Alhourani and 20-year-old Marco Mesina, were both arrested in connection to the incident. Alhourani, of the 300 block of Richfield Trail, faces charges related to the shooting, including aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and obstructing justice.

Mesina, of the 1900 block of Wheatfield Drive, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and obstructing justice.

Crest Hill police said the wounded teen was initially brought to a fire station near the shooting scene for treatment before he was transported to the hospital.

The incident remains under investigation. Romeoville police indicated additional charges could potentially be filed in the incident.
