Schaumburg school staffer appointed Rosemont village trustee (dailyherald.com) — Rosemont has a new village trustee, as Mayor Brad Stephens appointed longtime resident and speech pathologist Samantha Wong-Balogh to fill the late Roger Minale’s term through April 2027. Wong-Balogh, whose husband is a Rosemont Public Safety lieutenant and school board member, says she’s honored to serve and bring fresh energy to village decisions. Her deep ties to Rosemont’s civic and political life signal continuity on the board.
   

2. Metra Negotiating To Beef Up North Central Service (journal-topics.com) — Metra is negotiating to add more trains on the North Central Service line, which includes a stop in Rosemont, potentially restoring some pre-pandemic options as early as next year. The agency is working with freight rail partners to secure track access so it can expand beyond today’s mostly rush-hour schedule and improve flexibility for Rosemont commuters traveling to and from Chicago.
