Attack on Nurse’s Aide at St. Joe’s Hospital Lands Lady in Jail: Complaint

The Plainfield woman allegedly launched a vicious attack on the nurse's aide.

JOLIET, IL — A Plainfield woman was jailed Thursday night for allegedly attacking a nurse’s aide at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.

Ashleigh Nussbaum, 33, was booked on two counts of aggravated battery and two counts of battery.

Nussbaum attacked a 34-year-old woman at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in September, according to a criminal complaint on file in Will County court. Nussbaum’s alleged victim was identified as a nurse’s aide in court papers.

Nussbaum grabbed the woman by the hair and threw her to the ground, the complaint said, and also scratched her face.

The Joliet police failed to respond to calls about the case. It was not clear why Nussbaum was not charged for nearly four months after the alleged incident.
