Eric Allen, Deputy Police Chief, Departs Shorewood To Become Police Chief In This City

SHOREWOOD, IL — A long-time high-ranking member of the Shorewood Police Department is leaving the department to become a police chief in a nearby community.

Shorewood announced in a Facebook video that "It is bittersweet at Shorewood PD today as we say farewell to Deputy Chief Eric Allen after 26-plus years of dedicated service. He has served the Village with honor, and we wish him nothing but the best as he begins his new chapter as the newly appointed Chief of Police for the City of Braidwood."

According to its Facebook page, the Braidwood Police Department employs a chief, 1 detective sergeant, 3 patrol sergeants, 9 full-time patrol officers, 5 part-time school resource officers, 1 part-time patrol officer, 1 administrative coordinator and 1 records clerk.
