Joliet Man Accused of Jewel Theft Attacks Neighbor: Cops
The Joliet man had been accused of stealing jewelry from a neighbor, police said.

A Joliet man accused of stealing jewelry ended up attacking a neighbor after the cops left the scene of the supposed crime, police said.
County deputies were sent over to Cayuga Street to speak with a resident who accused 31-year-old neighbor Gregory Blair of stealing jewelry, police said.
Other people living at the address reportedly told deputies Blair had been in the house but “could not confirm that Blair took anything (or) never saw Blair take anything.”

The deputies departed but were “called back to the residence because apparently someone went to Blair’s residence to ask him about the jewelry,” police said.
This may have provoked Blair, as police said he then went to the neighbor’s house and attacked a 49-year-old man.

Blair was jailed on charges of aggravated assault and battery but was later released on his own recognizance.
