Joliet Man Tells Jury Commission 'F--- the System' and 'This is Dumb'
The prospective juror had to appear in court after turning in his qualification questionnaire.
A Joliet man shared his thoughts about jury duty, and his frank opinions bought him a special visit to a Will County judge.
“F--- THE SYSTEM,” 21-year-old Jacob Tobin wrote on his juror qualification questionnaire. Tobin also noted, “this is dumb.”
Tobin gave his take on jury duty in the “remarks” section of the questionnaire, where potential jurors have the opportunity to give longer, more detailed answers than the space on the form allows.

Six days after completing the questionnaire, Tobin appeared before Will County Judge Daniel Rozak. Tobin, a package handler and driver for UPS in Rockdale, was represented by attorney Chuck Bretz, according to court records.
“Mr. Tobin is very remorseful about his actions,” said Neil Patel, an attorney with Bretz’s law firm.

“He recognizes how serious this is,” Patel said. “He understands and agrees with everything Judge Rozak said to him.”
During his court appearance, Tobin was served with a summons for jury duty on Sept. 28.
