Joliet West Athetes Top Finishers at State Track Meet

Joliet West High School senior Kristine Bourg and junior Melzina Johnson were top finishers in the IHSA Indoor State Track Meet at Illinois Wesylan College in Bloomington on Saturday.

Bourg finished 6th in State for the 60 meter dash and Johnson finished 2nd in State for the long jump. Both girls are ranked in the top 20 in State for sprints and jumps and competed against the top athletes in Illinois

The girls competed in multiple events with Johnson qualifying in both the long jump and 60 meter dash and Bourg qualifying in the pole vault, long jump and 60 meter dash.

The Head Girls Track Coach is Sally Pagnusat. Assistant Coaches are Al Pagnusat, sprints; Seandell Davis, pole vault; Kelly Halucek, distance; and Barb Lantz, throws.

"My coaching staff and I are so very proud of the girls' accomplishments and are excited to start the outdoor season building on the success we experienced," said Head Coach Pagnusat.
